These results were given to him. He then asked how many write-in votes he received, I told him he received 2 votes in Precinct 2. He stated his surprise at this by saying he and his w.fe hadwritten in his name for councilmember in Precinct I. 1 asked him if he co;:ld call me back later in the morning while I checke.: see if his vote total was placed on the wrong line of the tally sheet, under Precinct 2 instead of Precinct 1. He said hw would give me time to check and call me back later in the morning. I then checked each precinct tally sheet for the municipal election and noted that the only precinct tally to show write-in votes for Printup was Precinct 2. John Gerhardson talked to Bruce Willis of Popham Haik about this matter and was told that this natter should be brought to the attention of the Canvassing Board for their direction. Mr. Printup was told when he c-Iled back that he was welcome to attend the Canvassing Board meeting at 5:00 P.M. tonight. He stated that talking to neighbors he thought there should be about 16 votes for people in the Crystal Bay area. He stated that these write-ins were to show their dissatisfaction with the Crystal Bay Area sewer. MINUTES OF THE CANVASSING BOARD MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 7, 1984. PAGE 1 ATTENDANCE 5:05 PM The Orono C'ounci I met on the above date wi ch the fol ]owing members present: Mayor Butler, C.ouncilmembers Adams, Frahm and Hammerel. Councilmember Grabek was absent. Deputy Clerk Lattin, Public Works Coor-- dinator Gerhardson, City Attorney Radio, and Recorder Sutton represented the City staff. Herb Reissner was also present. Mayor Butler stated that the purpose of this meeting is to review the tally sheets from the election held November 6, 1984. Butler stated that the result of the Election is that Jim Grabek and Lynn Adams have been elected to four year terms co the City Council effective after the first of the year. Mayor Butler stated that. there has been a question on the write-in votes in precinct N1. Public Works Coordinator Gehardson stated that it is up to Council's di sego* i "­, v+d1ll to rev ew the write-in votes. Council felt that they should review the write-i.n votes for precinct 41.
