Re: On Land Disposal Systems
For Mr. Vince Bernhardt's Property at
Lot 4, Block 1, Riedel Company's Stubbs
Bay Addition
Dear Mr. Kevlin:
Enclosed are specifications and drawings for a proposed
disposal system for the above referenced project.
On October 13 and 14, 1975 percolation tests were
conducted on the above mentioned property at the loca-
tions described en Figure 1 of the enclosed drawings.
Testing consisted of a soil boring to a depth of three
and a half feet and six percolation test holes.
Soils encountered were light brown sandy clay and some
reddish brown and grey clay interbedded. The soil
boring was made at an elevation about five feet lower
than the area where the percolation tests were run. No
,round water was encountered in the soil boring hole,
therefore, the ground water table is greater than 8
feet deep in the percolation test area.
Percolation rates for the test holes averaged 4 minutes
per inch. These rates indicate a natural soil suitable
for use as a d):ain field for on site disposal.
Stated percolation rates are averaged for the locations
shown and no guarantee is implied or expressed that these
conditions exist for the entire proposed drain field area.

PROPOSED ON -SITE DISPOSAL SYSTEM
VINCE BERNHARDT
2022 LAKE ROAD, WAYZATA
SEPTIC TANK - Two 1000-gallon capacity tanks, in series,
manufactured and installed in compliance
with City code. See Figure 2 for location.
DOSING CHAMBER - One 500-gallon capacity tank downstream
from the second septic tank manufactured
and installed in compliance with City coo a
for septic tanks, including a siphon or pump
with discharge rate of no less than 25 gpm.
The purpose of the dosing chamber is to de-
liver septic effluent to the drainfield in
periodic doses of 450 to 500 gallons at rates
of 25 gpm or more rather than in smaller,
more frequent applications. See Figure 2
for location.
DRAINFIELD - Indicated average percolation rate is 4
minutes per inch. State code required mini-
mum 115 square feet of drainfield area for
each bedroom at this percolation rate.
Proposed total drainfield area is 1000 square
feet. Proposed drainfield trench bottom
width is three (3) feet requiring 333 lineal
feet of drain tile. Four lines 85 feet long
and 8 feet apart are recommended.
Proposed drainfield locations are shown in
Figure 2. Contours shown in Figures 1 and
2 are approximate. Drainfield trench details
showing materials and installation are shown
in Figure 3. Estimated quality of washed
gravel or crushed rock for pipe bedding is
75 cubic yards. Figures 1 through 3 are,
by reference, made part of these specifications.

Subject: On -Site Disposal System
Lot 4, Block 1, Riedel Company's
Stubbs' Bay Addition
Dear Hank:
We have reviewed the proposed on -site sanitary disposal
system for Vincent Bernhardt's on the subject lot, as pre-
pared by Eugene A. Hickok and Associates. We concur with
their recommendations and we recommend your approval, subject
to one change. The proposal recommends a 3 foot wide trench.
The standards suggest that a 3 foot wide trench has an effective
bottom area of only 2.5 feet. This would result in a require-
ment of 400 linear feet of the in lieu of the 333 feet proposed.
This would mean that 4 lines, 100 feet long, are required. With
this change, we recommend your approval of the subject project.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
US.
Very truly yours,

Re: On Site Waste Disposal System For
Mr. James M. Morvek and
Mr. Vincent Bernhardt
Dear Mr. Muhich:
There is room on Mr. Morvek's property at Lot 7, grim
Johnston's Rearrangement of Albee Long Lake Addition
to increase the total lineal drain tile footage to
400 feet as suggested by Mr. McCombs in his November
3, 1975 letter to you.
Also there is room on Mr. Bernhardt's property at
Lot 4, Block 1, Riedel Company's Stubbs Bay Addition ,e
for four 100-foot long drain tile lines as suggested t,ctnt •
by Mr. McCombs in his November 3, 1975 letter to you.
If you have any questions about the above matters
please contact me.
