Dear Mrs. Simonson:
Recently, the City of Orono was made aware that Edgewood Hills
Road is not identified with a street sign and does not provide
a stop sign for traffic control at the intersecting street.
The street sign is important because it allows emergency vehicles
faster response to a reEidence in the event of an emergency. The
stop sign is important because it allows for the orderly regulation
of traffic and is in the best interest of public safety. Because
you reside on a private road there are two options available.
Option 1 is that you may install the signs yourself using City
guidelines for size, height, etc.
Option 2 is that the City will install the signs using a standard
City street sign and regulation stop sign. The City fee schedule
is $75.00 per sir-^ installed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 473-7359.
Sincerely,
John R. Gerhardson
