Re: Request to occupy residence prior to completion of
drainfield.
Dear Mr. Long:
This letter grants you permissior to occupy your new
residence at 765 Dickey Lake Drive prior to installation of the
sewage treatment mound portion of your septic system subject to
the following:
1. Installation of tanks must be complete prior to
occupancy,
2. Tanks shall be pumped out by a licensed pumping
contractor as oFten as r.:cessary to eliminate any sewage
discharge to the ground surface,
3. Mound system installation shall be completed no later
than July 15, 1986,
4. Final mound system location must be approved by City
Inspector,
5. No occupancy pri(,r to issuance of Temporary
Certification of Occupancy by Building & Zoning Department
Jim, you mentioned in your letter of request that a sewage
ejector will be used. I presume that the intent is to gravity -
flow the upper floors and eject just the basement sewage to the
tanks. You realize that an effluent pump is needed in the 3-d
septic tank compartment for pressure distribution throughout the
Tound. The sewage ejector in t_he basement will not reduce the
ovp-all volume of material in the tanks, especially since over
95% of your household waste is water. The ejector will likely
(,nly break down the sewage solids into smaller pieces while not
reducing the volume.

Your tanks will likely have a capacity of 2500-3000 ga lons.
Typical average water use is 50-75 jallons per person per day, A
4-member household could be expected to fill your tanks every 10-
14 days.
Plea^ contact me if I can be of further service.
Sincerely, /•
