RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE SOUTH SIDE OF
MAPLE LANE "NO PARKING"
WHEREAS,the City of Orono, (the"City")has jurisdiction over its public rights-of-way and;
WHEREAS, the City's Traffic Management Policy provides a process for addressing
neighborhood traffic concerns, including consideration of resident input and potential
implementation of traffic control measures such as parking restrictions; and
WHEREAS,the residents of Maple Lane petitioned the city to establish a no-parking zone on the
south side of Maple Lane; and
WHEREAS,the City Council finds that installation of"No Parking" signs along the south side of
Maple Lane is necessary to promote public safety, maintain traffic flow, and preserve access for
emergency and service vehicles; and
WHEREAS,Minnesota Statutes § 169.06 grants local authorities the power to place and maintain
traffic control devices on streets and highways under their jurisdiction; and
RESOLVED that the Orono City Council directs the public works department to install "No
Parking" signs along the south side of Maple Lane, from Willow Drive to Hackberry Hill.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on September 22,
2025.
