HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-06-17 Septic System Design ReportSYSTEM DESIGN FOR FRITZ GULLICKSON OF LOT 2, BLOCK 2, RINGERSWOOD ORONO, MINNESOTA 1. Percolation Rate, Type of System. 5.4 minutes per inch, Pressure Mound System. 2. Proposed Flow Rate. 4 bedrooms @ 150 G.P.D. = 600 G.P.D. 3. Proposed Rock Bed Area Needed. 600 G.P.D. x 0.83 factor for using a minimum of 12" of clean sand under the rock bed = 500 Sq. Ft. or a 10' x 50' rock bed. 4. Dike Measurements based on Basal Width. Basal Width ratio = 1.52 x 10' wide bed = 15.2 feet-10 feet for the bed = only 5.2 feet out. However, use minimum sideslope of 4:1 so the mound will have to extend out about 15 feet on each side and about 12 feet at the ends. Since there is over 2 feet o; good black loam soils some minor grading could be done to level the area under the rock bed. 5. Septic Tanks. Two septic tanks, of at least 1000 and 750 gallons respectively, are needed in addition to a third pumping tank to house the pump. Also, an alarm system is needed to warn of pump failure. 6. Distribution. Distribution is to be by pressure to 3 perforated laterals in the rock bed. These are to be spaced 40" apart. 7. Additional Information_ All construction and materials must adhere to the provisions of the City of Orono. All construction traffic must be kept off both the primary and alter- nate sites, and these areas should be marked off to ensure thin. If there are any other questions, please contact me. Percolation Rate, Type of System. 60 minutes per inch on the primary site. Pressure Mound System. These rates were obtained by Carl Borg who tested the subdivi- sion. This design is based on those rates only and it is agreed that that these results have not been verified by us. 2. Proposed Flow Rate. 4 bedrooms @ 150 G.P.D. = 600 G.P.D. 3. Proposed Rock Bed Area Needed. 600 G.P.D. x 0.83 factor for using a minimum 12" depth of clean sand under the rock bed = 500 Sq. Ft. or a 10' x 50' bed. 4. Dike Measurements based on Basal Width. Basal Width ratio = 5.0 tirr2s 10' wide bed = 50'. Because the average slope is slightly greater than 3%, the downslope width can only be used and needs to be 50'-10' rock bed = 40' which is also greater than a 4:1 slope, so is all right. The other sides of the dike should be at least 4:1 slopes or out at least 12 feet. 5. Septic Tanks. Two septic t%nks, of at least 1000 and 750 gallons respectively are needed _. addition to a third pumping tank to house the pump. Also, an alarm system is needed to warn of pump failure. 6. Distribution. Distribution is to be by pressure to 3 perforated laterals in the rock bed spaced 40" apart. 7. Additional Information. All construction and materials must adhere to the provisions of the City of Orono. All construction traffic must be kept off both the primary and alternate drainfield sites, and these areas should be marked off to ensure this.
