Home My WebLink AboutResolution 5040 � °� • � � ° -� � CITY of ORONO � , �b • � � � G RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ��kESSOg'� • NO. c� O � � � A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO BE ABANDONED AND REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Orono Police Department has come into lawful possession of certain property; and WHEREAS, the Orono Police Department has drafted a Request for Council Action and identified the property in an addendum to the Request for Council Action, and WHEREAS, this property has been in the possession of the Police Department for more than 60 days; and � WHEREAS, the owners of said property have either failed to respond to notification or • the owners of said property cannot be identified, and WHEREAS, City Ordinance allows for the disposal of abandoned or unclaimed property and the Police Department is seeking authorization to dispose of said property pursuant to Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Orono that: 1. The Police Department be authorized to dispose of said surplus property by public auction through Soderholm Auction Company, or 2. Give non-salable items to Charity, or 3. Forward to Orono Public Works, items that are usable for the benefit of the City of Orono and its residents. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 8t"day of September, 2003.
