A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SAFE AND REASONABLE
SPEEDS ON PARK LANE AND ELM STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has received complaints
from the residents on Park Lane and E1m street stating that the
speed limits of 3O MPH is excessive and,
WHEREAS, the Orono staff has reviewed the residents
complaints, and agrees that a speed survey should be conducted,
and
� WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation
did at the request of the City of Orono conduct a speed survey
• on E1m Street and Park Lane, and
WHEREAS the Minnesota Department of Transportation has
authorized a reduction of the speed limits on Park Lane and Elm
Street.
� NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City
� Council does hereby authorize the reduction of the speed. limit on
Elm Street from 30 MPH to 20 MPH and Park Lane from 30 MPH to 15 MPH
and does hereby direct the Orono Public Works Department to post
those streets accordingly.
Approved by the Orono City Council at a regular council meeting
on Apri1 12, 1982.
