OROIvO'S ADMINISTRA'I•IVE ORGANIZATIGh ALSO KNOWN AS THE
CITY OP� OROhO'S PEkSGIvNEL PGLICY
BE IT RESOLVE� THAT:
1. Section XIX of the City of Orono 's Aoministrative
Organization (also known as the City of Ororxo's Personnel Policy)
is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION XIX CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
� .
It is exgected that every employee, ap�ointed
• Qerson or elected person, shall exercise good ,
judgment in avoiding becoming in.volved with any
conflicting outside business interest. These
include, but are not limited to. the following:
Sec. 19.A �

� Those in which an employee, appointed person or
elected person has financial interest in, or receives
benefits from, a business in which he occupies a
position which may enable him to influence the placing
of a City business either inside or outside the City
Government .
Sec. 19.B
. Those in which an employee, a�pointed person or
elected person accepts full or part-time work
• elsewhere , where such activity interferes with
� their duties and job performance. Any Fvll-time
� .�. . employee who wishes to accept part-time Work
elsewhere must have ap�roval of the City
Administrator. "

2. Section LIII of the City of Orono 's Administrative
, Organization (also known as the City of Orono's Personnel Policy) •
is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION LIII
While �employme'nt�or volunteer work in the City seryice
.is based upon the merit principle, the employment or
volunteer work of persons related to any employee,
� �_pointed person or elected person shall be prohibited.
Related persons shall include spouses, chil6ren,
parents, brothers or sisters.
: Exceptions to the . above rule shall be made only in
extreme situations and only upon the prior written
approval of the City Aaministrator and City Council. "
• 3: The underlined portions of sections 2 and � 3 denote only
the changes t�o the existing provisions and are not substantive in
nature . . �
, 4 . This resolution shall be �effective immediately.
This resolution was passed by a vote of 3 ayes and 0
