Absent: Jon Schwingl:r. <br /> Staff present: City Administrator Adam Edwards, Co i unications Specialist Rachel Cotter, City <br /> Clerk Christine Lusian. <br /> COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA POLI Y <br /> Staff presented on external communications and an upd=ted social media policy, asking council <br /> for input on priorities. The group discussed guiding pri ciples of trust, transparency, and fact- <br /> based messaging on all communication channels (email text,website, events, social media, <br /> utility bills, media, signs,newsletters) for all departme s, with Facebook, Instagram, Linkedln, <br /> and Nextdoor as primary platforms. Council emphasize. a consistent, conservative and <br /> professional tone, clear messaging across departments, ;lignment with the council code of <br /> conduct, website policy, and defined spokesperson role. (Mayor for council, Adam for staff). <br /> Goals include building trust, approaching humor carefu ly to maintain professionalism, <br /> strengthening two-way communication, tightening bran.ing, ensuring mobile-friendliness, using <br /> more photos of people, growing audience reach, and su i eying residents on preferred <br /> communication methods.
