THE ROBERT L. SEARLES MERITORIOUS SERVICE
AWARD CONFERRED UPON
COUNCILMAN NORMAN W. PAURUS
WHEREAS, the Village of Orono has individuals who
contribute outstanding service to the community to help achieve
basic goals that enhance and perpetuate the "quality of life"
for the residents of Orono; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orono did establish the
Robert L. Searles Meritorious Service Award; by Resolution #735
on December 13 , 1976 , as a method of rewarding citizens contribu-
tion of an outstanding nature; and
WHEREAS, Norman W. Paurus has identified, clarified and
drafted into meaningful legislation the basic goals of the Village
of Orono that enhance and perpetuate the "quality of 7,ife" within
Orono; and
• WHEREAS, Norman W. Paurus has given outstanding service
to the Village of Orono during the past 10 years having served as
Councilman, Planning Commission Chairman, Planning Commission Member,
Director and Chairman of the Lake Minn.etonka Conservation District; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orono desires to recognize the sig-
nificant contribution Norman W. Paurus has made to the :�o�reral�l"welfare
of Orono. _ _ - - - -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Robert �,. Searles
Meritorious Service Award be con�'erxed upon Concilman Norman W. Paurus .

its regular meeting held October 14, 1981.
