City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 1675 <br />GRANTING A VARIANCE TO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.20, SUBD. 3(K) - FILE 1850 <br />WHEREAS, DennisO.Thompson (hereafter "the applicant")has <br />an interest in the property located at 250 Old Crystal Bay Road within <br />the City of Orono (hereafter "City"), and legally described as <br />follows: <br />That part of Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision Two Hundred <br />twenty-nine (229), Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to <br />the plat thereof on file or of record in the office of the <br />Registrar of Titles in and for said county, lying Southerly <br />of a line drawn parallel with and 240 feet Southerly of , as <br />measured at right angles to, the North line of said Lot 1 and <br />lying Westerly of a line drawn parallel with and 1,070 feet <br />Easterly of, as measured at right angles to, the West line of <br />said Lot 1 (hereinafter "the property"): and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a <br />variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10. 20 Subd 3 (K) to permit the <br />keeping of horses for the purpose of breeding, training and sale <br />to the public. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci 1 of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />Findings <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File No. 850. <br />2. The property is located is the RR-lB Single Family Rural <br />Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this <br />application on August 20, 1984 and recommended approval <br />of the proposed variance bar--^d upon the following <br />findings: <br />a) The applicant's principal residence will be <br />located on the property. <br />b) The proposed application requires no additional <br />variances to the performance standards for the keeping <br />of domestic animals. <br />
