RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

� � - � � A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LANG, PAULY &
=���:'�':,,_ GREGERSON AS SPECIAL PROSECUTOR FOR
THE CITY OF ORONO
WHEREAS, the law firm of "Popham, Haik, Schnobrich
Kaufman & Doty, Ltd. has been designated as the prosecuting
attorney for the City of Orono; and
� WHEREAS, on occasion this law firm cannot represent
. the interests of the City of Orono due to such matters as prior
or continuing representation of a particular defendant or the
potential that the prosecuting attorney may be called as a
witness; and
�
• WHEREAS, the Code of Professional Responsibility for
Minnesota attorneys requires that a law firm may not represent
a client in such situations; and .
.WHEREAS, the prosecuting attorney has worked with the ,
law firm of Lang, Pauly & Gregerson, which firm is the prosecuting
attorney for the City of Eden Prairie , and recommends that firm
as being respected and capable in its role as prosecuting ,�
attorney for Eden Prairie;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That until further action taken by this Council, that
the City Council of the City of Orono hereby designat�s that the
law firm of Lang, Pauly & Gregerson as special prosecutor for the
City of Orono in those situations where the firm of Popham, Hai}c,
. �
Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty is precluded from handling such case;
and �

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such appointment shall
take place from time to time upon authorization of the City
Administrator.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono,
Minnesota at a regular meeting held July 27, 1981.
