These holes were tested on April 17 at which time the soil borings were dug 6 inches in difaeter'to the 4 foot depth and 3 inches in diameter to the 8 foot depth, The per- colation holes were dug with both a power auger and a bucket type hand auger while the soil borings were dug with the hand augers, The primary site is located west of the proposed house at the toe of a steeper slope where quite a bit of bleak loam had been deposited over the Tars. Because the better soil exists near the surface a shallow trench system should be installed with the tren- ches being no deeper than one foot in the natural soil. Also, since the drainfield area is located at the toe of the slope an intercep- tor drain should be installed above the drainfield to divert any runoff water from entering the treatment area. This trench should be a couple of feet lower than the drainfield trenches with drain - tile being placed in the bottom and rook placed over the top. A few inches of black dirt can then be placed at the surface to es- tablish a grass cover. Additional design information follows. If any other informa- tion is needed, please contact me. Sincerely.
