HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7593 donation election volunteers 5/19/2025CITY OF ORONO RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL No.7593 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION WHEREAS, election judges must be paid at least minimum wage for work and training (Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 1); and WHEREAS, election judges can volunteer to work without pay if they submit a written statement at least ten days before the election (Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 2); and WHEREAS, the city of Orono can accept donations for the benefit of its residents (Minnesota Statutes § 465.03 et seq.); and WHEREAS, election judges must receive training before working an election (Minnesota Rules § 8240.1300 subp. 1; and WHEREAS, the city of Orono administered a special election on May 13; and WHEREAS, the donation of time has been offered to Orono for the benefit of its voters and residents; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to accept the following volunteer time: Name Volunteer Hours Description Susan Bro 31.25 training, early voting Kevin Landgraver 10 training, election day voting Debra Comick 10 training, election day voting Iry Fish 2 training RESOLVED that the Orono City Council gratefully accepts the volunteer time from the generous election judges listed above.
