t A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE
; HENNEPIN COUNTY REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY
j TO EXPEDITE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
� RECREATIONAL TRAIL ON THE DAKOTA RAIL CORRIDOR
�
; ,
� WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority now has ownership of
; the Dakota Rail Comdor; and
� .
� WHEREAS,the rails and ties have been removed from the corridor; and
�

' WHEREAS, the current condition Iof the corridor creates confusion about public use of
t the corridor; and
• � . WHEREAS, the expedited development of a regional recreational trail on the corridor '
i would clarify the use of the corridor,would discourage further encroachments onto the trail, and
; would provide the unique and valuable recreational a.iid transportation benefits that only this '
': comdor can provide to this area.
! NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the Orono City Council does hereby . �
r strongly encourage the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority to expedite the
� development of a regional recreational trail on the Dakota Rail Comdor.
