A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING
THE FACILITIES SERVICES FUND
WHEREAS, the Central Services department within the General Fund tracks
expenditures that applies to all departments; and
WHEREAS, the City has been tracking facility operating expenditure as part of the
Central Services department; and
WHEREAS, the use of internal service funds improves financial management by
allowing more precise tracking of costs related to specific services; and
WHEREAS, internal service funds are useful for budgeting and decision-making; and
WHEREAS, the City already tracks information technology, insurance and fleet related
expenditures as internal services fund; and
WHEREAS, the creation of a Facilities Services Fund will allow precise tracking of
costs related to facility services, supplies, maintenance and repairs; and
WHEREAS, the fund will charge other departments for services provided; and
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Facilities Services Fund be
establish.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on May 12, 2025.
