HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 590v • RESOLUTION NO. 590 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Drainage Improvement Project No. 1975-1 WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the council on March 11, 1975, the city engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the improvement of the drainage in the ravine located near County Road No. 19, approximately 700 feet east of the city's boundary lines by installing a 185 foot pipe, a catch basin, and energy dissipater, and by filling the eroded areas and thereafter sodding same and has presented such plans and specifications to the council for approval; • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO, MINNESOTA: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The city clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an adver- tisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published on one day a week for three weeks, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the clerk until 10:0.0 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 1975, at which time they will be publicly opened in the council chambers of the city hall by the city clerk and treasurer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at 7:30 p.m. on May 27, 1975, in the council chambers, and that no bids will be con- sidered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the clerk for 5 percent of the amount of such bid. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bidding and to accept any bid deemed to be in the.best interests of the city. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty days of the date of bid opening. • Adopted by -the city council this 8th day of April, • 1975, by a vote of 3 ayes and 0 nays.
