RESOLUTION NO. 566
RESOLUTION ADOPTING
COMPREHENSIVE MUNICIPAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the Minnesota Statutes
empowers the City of Orono to prepare and adopt a compre-
hensive municipal plan, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has prepared the
Comprehensive municipal Plan which includes a compilation of
policy statements, goals, standards, and maps for guiding the
physical, social and economic development, both private and
public, of the municipality and its environs, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the City Coun-
cil reviewed the proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hear-
ing thereon pursuant to legal notice on August 26, 1974 and
thereafter adopted and transmitted the plan to the City Council,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council submitted the proposed
plan to the Metropolitan Council for written comment and recom-
mendation on August 28, 1974, and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has submitted
their official comments and recommendations,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council adopts the attached
Comprehensive Guide.Plan, including the references and source
materials incorporated herein, as the Comprehensive Municipal
Plan of the City.
FURTHERIMORE, WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the Minnesota
Statutes empowers the City to enact a zoning ordinance and to
provide for its administration, enforcement and amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary, for
the purpose of promoting health, safety, order, convenience,
prosperity and general welfare of the City to enact a zoning
ordinance to male different regulations for different districts
and to change use district boundaries in order, to carry out the
purposes of the Ccmprehensive Municipal Plan and the afcr_esai.d

Passed by the Orono Council this 2nd day of December,
1974 by a vote of -5 ayes and 0 nays.
