ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO MARINA REGULA- TIONS SHOULD BE ENFORCED AND NO VARI- ANCES SHOULD BE GRANTED WHEREAS, the City of Orono has only allowed the reasonable and necessary extension of commercial docks into the waters of take Minnetonka to accomodate the docking and mooring of such craft as customarily and lawfully may be used upon the lake, and WHEREAS, the unreasonable and unnecessary extension of commercial docks interferes with, obstructs, tends to obstruct, or renders dangerous for use or passage the body of water within the limits of the City, and WHEREAS, there still is the need to restrict the length of cormLercial docks to eliminate the danger to the public health, safety, and welfare. • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counci-1 reaffirms that Ordinance No. 1 and the other ordinances of the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District pertaining to marina regulations should be enforced by the District and. that no vari- ances from those ordinances should be granted, since suc-h vari- ances could not possibly promote the public safety, health, and welfare of the City.
