Re: 2615 Countryside Drive - Addendum to Letter of 11/4/86
Dear Mr. Ryerse:
I have been contacted by Jim Bolles of NSP regarding the
encroachment of their electrical line into the drainfield at 2615
Countryside Drive. Based on his assertion that the electrical
lines were in fact within the 10' drainage and utility easement
adjacent to the north line of the property, we have done some
additional investigation and find that it seems liY ly that the
drainfield and curtain drain are partially off the property. The
attached sketch (to scale) shows the measured locations of the
drop boxes in relation to the existing house. Presuming the
house is located "as proposed" on the survey, approximately half
the drainfield system is improperly located north of the property
line and in the drainage and utility easement. This was
apparently not realized by the installer at the time of
installation, and note that my previous tetter indicated there is
no inspection slip on file.
Given that the drainfield appears to be within a dedicated
road right-of-way, to continue using the front yard drainfield
system, you would have to not only move the well and abandom the
half of the drainfield north of the electric line, but would have
to replace the equivalent amount of abandoned drainfield in the
front yard, which may not be feasible while still maintaining a
20' separation from the house. It would seem likely that the
most logical solution is to totally abandon the front yard drain -
field and construct a mound south of the house, using the
existing tanks, well and electric service in place.
