Planned Develooment 0rdinai.ee <br />A.Revised Drafts Section 10.46, 10.53 and 10.54 <br />Attachmen Ordinance 10.40 Excerpt <br />C.Sample Definitions for Restaurants (Class I) <br />ISSUE - Adoption of the language for implementing Planned <br />Development Ordinance,special requirements,and a B-6 Zone for <br />the Highway 12 corridor development. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council's last meeting they directed staff <br />to finalize language regarding the Planned Development Ordinance <br />incorporating the changes to date together with final language <br />for referencing the standards of the other zoning districts that <br />may be applicable. <br />DISCUSSION - Attachment A, please find a copy of the updated <br />draft of the ordinance with the changes underlined in that draft. <br />In addition the issue of the meaning of Class I Restaurants was <br />raised.The Orono code in Section 10.40 (B-1) defines it as: <br />Food is served to customer and consumed by him <br />while seated at a counter or table and the <br />restaurant does not serve intoxicating liquor <br />or provide live entertainment. Food is <br />selected by a customer while going through a <br />line and taken to a table for consumption. <br />As this language is not fully understandable, one of the <br />alternatives may be more appropriate. Of the examples in <br />Attachment C, Orono's current language is most closely related to <br />Plymouth* s. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1.Adopt. <br />2.Amend and adopt. <br />3.Table. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council adopt the <br />language presented for utilization in the Highway 12 corridor, <br />together with amending the definition of Restaurants (Class I) as <br />follows: <br />Restaurants (Class I) Traditional Restaurant
