Louis B. 0 erhauser,-Mayor Attest: Ralph artin, Clerk -Administrator RESOLUTION #446 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF BIG ISLAND AS A PUBLIC PARK - BE IT RESOLVED by the Village of Orono that it is in the public interest of the citizens of Orono that "Big Island" become a public park. It is acknowledged that public sewer is not available to serve the existing homes on Big Island and due to various reasons it is improbable that public sewer will ever be available, and FURTHER, it is acknowledged that the provision of public services including police and*fire protection, street reg_air, snow removal, inspection and other normal municipal services are difficult, uneconomical and virtually impossible to provide to.residential property located on Big Island. THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village of Orono. deems that the long range highest and best use of Big Island is for park purposes. The Village of Orono acknowledges that the park should be administered by an agency with county -wide responsibility and would approve of its management by Hennepin County Park Reserve District. Louis B. 0 er auser, Mayor Attest: Ralph artin, Clerk -Administrator RESOLUTION #447 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HIGHWAY NUMBER 12 At a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Orono duly held on the 22nd day of May, 1972, the following resolution was offered by Councilman Butler, seconded, by Councilman McCarthy, to -wit:
