A RESOLUTION PROTESTING THE PROPOSED REALIGNMENT
OF DISTRICTS FOR THE HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council, of the Village
of Orono, Minnesota, that the Council;
1. Believes that the plan to reshape the existing
County Commission Districts is an attempt to
control the County Board by Minneapolis.
2. Believes that -the plan was not publicized properly
and was "railroaded" through before any adequate
study could be made by voters or elected officials
thereby preventing any organized opposition thereto.
3. Would feel more represented by suburban commissioners
than any combination of suburban and Minneapolis
representatives.
NOW, THEREFORE,,BE IT RESOLVED that the,Village Council
of the Village of Orono, Minnesota protests the proposed realignment
of districts.
Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota at
a regular meeting -held October 26, 1971.
