HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 5333 � o� • o �. ° C ITY of ORONO � - : - � ti ti RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ���kEsll�g'�G NO. � c� � � A RESOLUTION PROVIDING THAT NO PORTION OF THE COSTS OF IMPROVEMENTS TO TOWNLINE ROA.D WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE TOWNLINE ROAD AREA PROPERTY OWNERS WHEREAS, the Cities of Oroiio, I�idependence, and Medina are planning to make improvements to Townline Road in the coming years; and WHEREAS, the improvements will involve installing a new base and new pavement to a 9-ton standard, with a rural design and a width similar to the current road width; and WHEREAS, the cost of the improvements is estimated to be approximately$200,000; and • WHEREAS, the Cities have agreed to share the costs as follows: Orono 20.83%, Independence 31.25%, Medina 47.92%; and WHEREAS, Orono's share of the costs will be equivalent to the cost of an overlay, which is paid through general tax revenues; and . WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Council that Orono's share of the costs should be funded through general tax revenues rather than through assessments levied on the properties in the Townline Road area. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does hereby determine that no portion of the costs of improvements to Townline Road will be assessed to the Townline Road area property owners.
