RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO TRANSFER
YEAR-END POLICE DEPARMENT BUDGET SURPLUS
WHEREAS,the police service contacts with Minnetonka Beach and Spring Park refer to retaining
unspent budgeted funds into a Police CIP; and
WHEREAS,the funds are to be used for future police related expenditures as identified in the
police service contracts; and
WHEREAS,the funds are currently being tracked as part of the Police Capital Fund(437); and
WHEREAS,the unspent funds in the police department budget within the General Fund(101)will
be transferred at year-end to the Police Capital Fund(437)to meet the minimum requirements of the police
service contracts;
WHEREAS, staff will designate Orono's portion to be transferred to the Police Capital Fund(437)
not to exceed calculated total maximum amount;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Department is authorized to process
year-end transfers to the Police Capital Fund(437) from the General Fund(101).
ADOPTED this 24th day of February 2025, by the City Council of the City of Orono.
