HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 359RESOLUTION #359 A RESOLUTION DECALRING COST TO BE ASSESSED ORDERING.PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT AND ORDERING HEARING THEREON WHEREAS, contracts have been let for an improvement consisting of the construction of sanitary sewer laterals adjacent to the area hereinafter described which sanitary sewer laterals will designated herein as 1969LS-1 and for improvements consisting of the construction of sanitary sewer laterals and water laterals adjacent to the area hereinafter described which sanitary sewer laterals and water laterals will be designated herein as 1969LS-2, and the contracts' prices, expenses and fees incurred or.to be incurred in the making of said improvements from inception to completion amount to $1.80,283.00 for 1969LS-1-, $130,751.11 for 1969LS-2 and $64,096.00 for 1969LW-2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ORONO, MINNESOTA: 1. The cost of such improvements to be specially assessed is hereby declared to be $180,283.00 for 1969LS-1, $130,751.11 for 1969LS-2 and $64,096.00 for 1969LW-2. 2. The Village Clerk, with the assistance of the Village Engineer and Village Assessor, shall calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvements hereinafter described against everyr,assessable lot, piece or parcel of land abutting upon said improvdments or b,ene•fit&d­'t)iereV)r-without regard to cash valuation, 'as provided by "law, "and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in the office-of'the Village'Clerk for public inspection. 3. The Village Clerk shall, upon completion of such proposed assessment, notify the council thereof. 4. The improvements above mentioned are as follows: Imp. No. Nature Location of Assessable Areas 1969LS-1 Cnnstruction of All that land abutting, adjacent to Sanitary Sewer or in the vicinity of the following Laterals streets and described property: Shorehills Plat Registered Land Survey 131 Also that property abutting the W side of Old Beach Road from County Road #19 to the N limits, and on the N side of County Road #19 from Old Beach Road to Wly to a point NW1y along said County Road. #19 for approximately 800 feet. 1969LS-2 Construction of All that land abutting, adjacent to Sanitary Sewer or in the vicinity of the following Laterals streets and described property: 1 (Resolution #359, continued) Imp. NE corner -of the Water Laterals SE1/4, Section 36, Township 118 N, Range 23 W, thence W along the N line of said SE 1/4 to the NW corner of the Hill -O -Way Manor plat, thence S along W line of said plat to a point on the S right of way line of the Minnesota -Western Railway, thence SEly along said S right of way line to the NW.corner of the Allo Rae Terrace plat, thence S along W line of said plat to the S line of the SE 1/4 of said Section 36, thence E along S line of the SE 1/4 of Section 36 to the SE corner of said 1/4 section, thence N along the E line of the said SE 1/4 of Section 36 to the point of beginning. Generally known as the -Chevy Chase - Allo Rae Terrace area. 5. Two hearings shall be held on September 24, 197°0`, in the Village Hall, one commending at 7:30, P.M. for 1969LS-1 and one commencing at 8:00 P.M. for 1969LS-2 and 1969LW-2, to pass upon such proposed assessment and.at such time and place ,_all persons owning property affected by such improvements w�l ,-Ve `given a� �opportui i:ty to be heard with reference to such as'ses'sment. ` 6. The Village Clerk is hereby directed,to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published once in the official newspaper and to be served upon all persons owning property affected thereby by mailing a copy of such notice or personal service thereof no less than two weeks prior to the hearing and he shall state in the notice the date, time and place of such hearing, the general nature of the improvement, the.area proposed to be assessed, that the proposed roll is on file in' -the office of the Village.Clerk and that written or oral objections thereto by any property owner will be considered.
