to permit the Legislature to define or limit the classes of exempt
property, except churches, houses of worship and property used solely
for educational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council believes the proposed amendment to be in
the best interests of the Village of Orono and the State as a whole.,
and represents a reasonable means of meeting the need to more equitably
spread the burden of financing local government services while at the
same time avoiding imposing undue financial hardship on educational
and -religious institutions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village
of Orono endorses the principles of equitable tax policy and r.eform
exemplified in Amendment No. 1, relating to Tax-exempt property and
urges its ratification.
Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota, at
a regular meeting held August 10, 1970.

RESOLUTION #358
-A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
ORONO F CHICAGO AND NORTH-WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY
WHEREAS, it is''ipb ft -ant and necessary to construct sanitary sewer and
water lines under and across the Chicago and North Western Railway
Company railroad tracks.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to sign
an agreement for a utility license with said railroad company.
Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota, at
a.special meeting held August 17, 1970.
