Dear Mr. Earling,
An inspection of your septic system %vas conducted on August S, 2000. A summan- of the inspection
is below.
Septic Tank Condition
1. Pumpout not needed at this time.
The septic system is non-compliant due to a lack of a tutee foot separation distance bethveen the bottom
of the drainfield to the seasonally high watertable. The three foot requirement is a State Code. not a Cite
Code. A soil boring %vas conducted to determine the depth of the seasonally %vatertable. The septic
system must be replaced by December 31, 2010.
Enclosed is a list of state licensed septic contractors �vho %work in Orono on a regular basis. Also
enclosed is a fact sheet explaining how a septic s}stem functions properly. Finally. an as -built dra%ving
is enclosed that shows the approximate location of the septic system.
