1. Percolation Rate, Type of System.
16.9 minutes per inch for the primary site(holes 1-4) and a shallow trench
system. 20.7 MPI for the alternate site(holes 5-6) and a shallow trench with
an interceptor draintile.
2. Proposed Flow Rate.
5 possible bedrooms @ 150 G.P.D. = 750 G.P.U.
3. Soil Treatment Area Required.
1.67 percolation factor x 750 G.P.U. = 1250 Sq. Ft. minimum.
4. Size and Number of Trenches.
5 trenches 3 feet wide and 83.3 feet long = 1250 Sq. Ft. These trenches would
be no deeper than 1.0 feet deep in the natural"and be spaced a minimum of 7.5
feet apart center to center.
5. Drainfield Rock Needed.
46.3 cubic yards of rock is needed to have 6 inches under and 4 inches over
a 4 inch distributior )ipe.
6. Septic Tanks.
Two septic tanks of at least 1000 and 750 gallons each are needed. It appears
that if the house is set high enough that gravity flow can be maintained, a
third pumping tank and pump would not be needed.
7. Additional Information.
All construction and materials must adhere to the provisions of the City of
Orono. Both the primary and alternate sites must be kept free of grading
and traffic. Runoff water is to be diverted from the drainfield area.
