MICHAEL, MN 55376 497.3566 STEVE SHIRMERS November 10, 1987 Tom Betz Lot 3 of lot 41 Auditor's Sub #203 Stubbs Bay Road Orono, Henn. Co., MN This system is designed for a Type 1, four bedroom home and in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency standards WPC 40 and local ordinances. The soils on this site are typical of SCS soils mapped - :.+B - LeSueur loam. A seasonally high water table was located at 16", 20", 22", 26", 5 280, (mottling). Due to the seasonally high water table, a pre3surized mound system will need to be installed. The bottom of the rock Iced must be lo- cated at least 3' above the seasonally high water table. The soils at a depth of 1B" have rzr^olation La`e aver%ying 6.1 min/inch and are adequate for treating septic effi.-jnt. A pumping chamber will need to be i.1stalled to lift the: `fluent to tt..? treatment area. The manifold and supply line pipe must ha -v:- uac:K drainage to the pumping chamber. The distribution pipes shall hav,s their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are c ea,-. The sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over, just break up the sod, be sure not to over work. The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure. (Mercury floats are a good method). All neighboring wells are located more than 100' away from the proposed treatment area. Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after construction as much as possible. The treatment area should be marked off before construction. With proper installation and maintenance, this system should have no problem.in treating septic effluent effectively. It is recommended that the septic tanks be pumped evr-r7 2 years. Soil and PercoMtiow To.a_ 1iL _ _ Septic System D filln Steven B. Special requirements for poW station inspection: Pump stations have become an increasing problem due to a wide range of installation and electrical connection methods, and due to varying per ,tions of who is responsible for various portions of the installation (incl iq bui ling inspectors, electrical inspectors, system installers, electricians,c eneral contractors). The following procedure and policy is immediately placed in effect. - a. The septic installer shall be responsib. a for ensuring that all electrical connections conform exactly to the diagram snown on the back of this sheet (90 EQCXPTIOS) . b. Septic installer shall call City for final pump station inspection when the pump, floats, electrical connections, and alarm system are complete and working. The alarm system will be tested, as will the pump on-off levels to ensure proper gallonage per cycle. C. Installer shall provide pump make and model number and a copy of the Pus:t: Characteristic Curve to the inspector for filing in permanent City records. d. Certificates of Occupancy for new residences will not be issued until the above is completed. Any questions? Contact Lyle Oman or Mike Gatfron at 473-7357.
