A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO
TOM KUEHN, UPON HIS RETIREMENT,
FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF ORONO
RESOLUTION NO. 5454
WHEREAS, Tom Kuehn has served the City of Orono as Finance
Director -Treasurer for nearly 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Tom's years with the City have been marked by a strong
commitment to the best interests of the community; and
WHEREAS, Tom has earned both the respect and friendship of those in
his profession; and
WHEREAS, under Tom's leadership, the City has, for the past 18 years in
a row, earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial
Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and
financial reporting; and
WHEREAS, Tom's fiscal leadership also played a key role in enabling
the City to become one of only five cities in the country with a population less
than 10,000 to earn a Aaa bond rating, the highest rating possible; and
WHEREAS, Tom is retiring from his position with the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council ofthe
City of Orono does hereby express its sincere appreciation to Tom Kuehn for his
dedicated service to the City, and does highly commend him for the manner in which
he has carried out his duties and responsibilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby extend
to Tom its best wishes for a long, healthy and happy retirement.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held
this 24th day of April, 2006.
