A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
OFFICER DAN THOMAS FISCHENICH
FOR HIS NINETEEN YEARS
OF DEDICATED SERVICE
TO THE CITY AS A MEMBER OF THE
ORONO POLICE DEPARTMENT
RESOLUTION NO. r 2
WHEREAS, Dan Fischenich began his employment with the City as a full-time
Police Officer on July 1, 1987; and
WHEREAS, he provided service to the community in a fair, respectful, honest,
trustworthy, and selfless manner; and
WHEREAS, he brought a strong service orientation and excellent people skills;
and
WHEREAS, he took initiative in areas including bicycle patrol, bicycle safety
training, canine unit, crime prevention, public safety and crime prevention training to
• civic, school, and business groups; and
WHEREAS, Dan Fischenich is retiring from his position as Police Officer
effective April 23, 2006.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does
hereby recognize and commend Dan Thomas Fischenich for his nineteen years of service
to the community on the Orono Police Department, and for his twenty nine years of
dedicated law enforcement service in the State of Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does hereby
congratulate Dan Fischenich on his retirement, and extends its best wishes for a long,
happy and healthy retirement.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held this
10th day of April, 2006.
