RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

A RESOLUTION
REQUESTING A,SIX MONTH EXTENSION
OF THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL REVIEW PERIOD .
FOR THE MYRTLEWOOD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT
MC REVIEW NO. 18392-5 .
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2005 Metropolitan Council received the City of
Orono's request for�approval of a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA) to a11ow
placement of the Myrtlewood Road neighborhood into the MUSA; and
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2005 Metropolitan Council deemed the Myrtlewood
� CPA to be incomplete and requested further inforxnation regarding I/I reduction progress
as well as a copy of the updated intercommunity sewer agreement with Wayzata; and

WHEREAS, on De ember 5, 2006 Metropolrtan Council de m
Myrtlewood CPA to be complete, but requested additional information with regards to
residential development density; and .
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2007 City staff inet with representatives of
Metropolitan Council and deternuned that provision of tY�e additional requested
information will require additional time and may not occur in time for Metropolitan
Council to take action on the CPA by the Apri13, 2007 review deadline. . -
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of�Orono does
hereby request a six-month extension of the review period for the Myrtlewood CPA, with
tlie uiiderstanding that the City will provide the requested information such that
Metropolitan Council can take final action on the CPA no later than September 30, 2007. �
