A RESOLUTION APPROVING A
POST-EMPLOYMENT I3EALTH CARE SAVINGS PLAN
FOR THE POLICE SERGEANT BARGAINING UNIT,AND AMENDING THE POLICE .
SERGEANT LASOR AGREEMENT TO REFLECT THE CHANGE .
WHEREAS, IRS rules allow cities to create Post-Employment Health Care Savings �
Plans (HCSPs) for their employees; and
WHEREAS, an HCSP provides substantial tax savings in relation to the payment of
health care costs; and
WHEREAS, the City's Police Sergeant bargaining unit has agreed on the design of an
HCSP. �
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono,
Minnesota:
1. That the following Post-Employment Health Care Savings Plan be adopted:
Employee Payroll Contribution
, All employees in the Police Sergeant bargaining unit will contribute 1% of pay
into the post-employment health care savirigs plan.
Sevea-amee Contrib�ataon
All employees in the Police Sergeant bargaining unit will contribute 100% of
severance pay into the post-employment health care savings pla�i.
2. That the Police Sergeant labor agreement be amended to reflect t11e addition of
' this plan.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular ineeting held
this 8`�'day of January, 2007.
