A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
SERGEANT KURT ERICKSON
FOR HIS
TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE
. AS A MEMBER OF THE ORONO POLICE DEPARTMENT
. RESOLUTION NO. 5563 •
�
WHEREAS, Kurt Erickson was appointed to the position of Police Officer
on January 15, 1980; and
WHEREAS,Kurt has dedicated 27 years of his life to serving the community
through his work as a Police Officer, Investigator, Administrative Sergeant,�Patrol
Sergeant, and Acting Police Chief; and _ �
WHEREAS, his years of service have been characterized by dedication to
providing the highest quality police service; and
WHEREAS, Kurt's high level of knowledge and experience across a broad
range of police work has been a key asset to the Police Department, particularly in
providing guidance to new officers; and
• WHEREAS, Kurt has taken a special interest in enforcing vehicle weight
restrictions to keep our roadways safe; and
WHEREAS,Kurt has exemplified the Orono Police Department motto of
"Fairness, Service, Pride,and Quality"; and
� WHEREAS, Kurt Erickson is retiring from his position as Police Sergeant
effective January 15, 2007.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council •
does hereby recognize and commend Sergeant Kurt Erickson for his distinguished
leadership and dedicated service to the community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does hereby
, congratulate Kurt Erickson on his retirement, and extends its best wishes for a long, .
happy and healthy retirement.
