HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 5558 � o� . • o � � - C ITY of 4RON0 � � : � ti ti RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ��� o��G No. 5 5 5 8 . kEsB A RESOLUTION APPROVING A POST-EMPLOYMENT HEALTH CARE SAVINGS PLAN FOR THE POLICE SERGEANT BARGAINING UNIT,AND AMENDING THE POLICE SERGEANT LABOR AGREEMENT TO REFLECT THE CHANGE WHEREAS, IRS rules allow cities to create Post-Employment Health Care Savings Plans (HCSPs) for their employees; and WHEREAS, an HCSP provides substantial tax savings in relation to the payment of health care costs; and WHEREAS, the City's Police Sergeant bargaining unit has agreed on the design of an HCSP. � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota: 1. That the following Post-Employment Health Care Savings Plan be adopted: Emnloyee Payroll Contribution . All employees in the Police Sergeant bargaining unit will contribute 2% of pay into the post-employment health care savings plan. Severance Contribution All employees in the Police Sergeant bargaining unit will contribute 100% of severance pay into the post-employment health care savings plan. 2. That the Police Sergeant labor agreement be amended to reflect the addition of this plan.
