A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING XCEL ENERGY,AND
PARTICULARLY GREG WENZEL, FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING �
EFFORTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARD THE CLEAN-UP AND
IMPROVEMENT OF THE BIG ISLAND PARK PROPERTY
RESOLUTION NO. 5542 �
WHEREAS, it is the City's vision that Big Island Park will be a serene,
historic,natural retreat on Lake Minnetonka; and
WHEREAS, when the City acquired the Big Island Park property, the
property needed substantial improvements to move it toward the City's vision;
and
WHEREAS, one item of necessary improvement was related to providing
electricity to key areas of the property, and eliminating unused power lines and
poles; and
• WHEREAS,Xcel Energy, and particularly Greg Wenzel,have been very
cooperative in facilitating the necessary improvements to the electrical
infrastructure on the property; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts of Xcel Energy and Greg Wenzel, the
property was made safer, more usable, and more inviting for the general public. ,
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council �
does hereby recognize and express its appreciation to Xcel Energy and Greg
Wenzel for their outstanding contributions toward the accomplishment of the
improvements necessary to enable the Big Island Park to be available for the
enjoyment of the public.
