A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
TONY SCHMIDT
FOR HIS OUTSTANDING EFFORTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS
TOWARD THE CLEAN-UP AND IMPROVEMENT
OF THE BIG ISLAND PARK PROPERTY
RESOLUTION NO. 5538
WHEREAS, it is the City's vision that Big Island Park will be a serene,
historic,natural retreat on Lake Minnetonka; and
WHEREAS,when the City acquired the Big Island Park property, the
property needed substantial improvements to move it toward the City's vision;
and
WHEREAS, a small group of people with the necessary equipment and
expertise stepped forward to accomplish the needed improvements; and
� WHEREAS, Tony Schmidt very generously contributed his equipment,
effort, and expertise toward the improvement of the Big Island Park Property; and
WHEREAS,through his efforts, the property was made safer,more
usable, and more inviting for the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council '
does hereby recognize and express its appreciation to Tony Schmidt for the
outstanding contributions he has made to accomplish the improvements necessary
to enable the Big Island Park to be available for the enjoyment of the public.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Orono,Minnesota at a regular meeting
held this 27th day of November, 2006.
