RESOLUTION # 1164
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON
HENNEPIN COUNTY ROADS #19 AND #51
WHEREAS, there is increased traffic on Hennepin County
Roads #19 and #51 due to the reconstructian of the Arcola Bridge,
and
WHEREAS, the detour during the reconstruction of the
Arcola Bridge is on Hennepin County Roads #19 and #51, and
WHEREAS, said increased traffic is creating a safety
problem on Hennepin County Roads #19 and #51 from the Burlington-
Northern railroad tracks at Navarre (County Road #19) through
the Hendrickson Bridge area (County Road #51) , and
WHEREAS, cars and cars with boat trailers are parking
on the roadway on County Roads #19 and #51, thereby creating a
safety problem.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Orono
request Hennepin County to post "No Parking" signs on Hennepin
County Road #19 from the Burlington-Northern railroad tracks at
Navarre, north to Hennepin County #51, and also, on Hennepin
County #51 on the north side of the road from the North Arm boat
landing at the Hendrickson Bridge , west 200 feet at the Hennepin
County #51 and Hennepin County #19 intersection for the duration
of the reconstruction of the Arcola Bridge or when the City of
Orono feels that it is the proper time for the removal of the signs.
. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a
regular meeting held July 14 , 1980 .
