RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

• ' � • A RESOLUTION OF THE ORONO PLANNI COMMISSION
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE
1980 CITY OF ORONO COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Orono is
a duly constituted planning agency pursuant to Minnesota Statutes
Section 462. 354 ; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has since its inception
in 1963 been actively involved in the comprehensive planning process,
including the review and adoption of the 1974 Orono Village Comprehensive
Guide Plan; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Commission has since 1978 been actively
involved in the review and updating of the 1974 Plan pursuant to the
1977 D�andatory Land Planning Act; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Commission has held numerous public
information meetings and a formal public hearing to receive public
ideas and comments on the proposed redrafting of the adopted 1974 Plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono Planning
Commission hereby adopts and recommends for approval the 1980 City
of Orono Community Management Plan as furthering the goals, policies
and planning directives established in 1974; as being consistent with
the Metropolitan Council ' s Development Framework Guide and the System' s
Statement issued to Orono by the Metropolitan Council; and as the
appropriate plan for managing Orono ' s growth, development and natural
resources in the coming years.
Adopted by the Orono Planning Commission on the Nineteenth day of May,
1980, by a vote of _� ayes and Q nays.

A RESOLUTION DIRECTING STAFF TO RESTRICT USE OF
LAKE ACCESS ON CRYSTAL BAY.
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has legal title to property
which presently provides lake access for vehicles and boats on
North Shore Drive West of Hendrickson. Bridge and directly across
from Baldur Park Road, and
WHEREA�, the use of that access during the months of
March lst through December lst each year results in the creation
of a traffic hazard for those using North Shore Drive and for the
citizens in the neighborhood,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ,
l. The use of vehicles and boats of the above access
shall be allowed only during the time period of December lst to
March lst each year until further notice.
' 2. The staff is directed to mark the boundaries of the
access,, to post the necessary signs to notify the public of these
restrictions, and to close the access to vehicles and boats during
the period of March lst to December lst each year. ,
3. In no way is the City abandoning it' s interest in the
access by this action and the City reserves the right to change the
restriction on the use of this access at any time in the future.
This resolution was adopted by the Orono City Couricil at a regular
meeting on May 12 , 19$0.
