RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

TAX FORFEIT LANDS
RETAINED FOR PUBLIC USE
BY THE CITY OF ORONO
WHEREAS , the City of Orono is a municipal corporation
organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS , pursuant to Minnesota Statute 282, the City has
received from Hennepin County a list of lands within the City which
have become the property of the State of P�Iinnesota for non-payment of
real estate taxes; and
WHEREAS , the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners have
classified said lands as non-conservation land and have authorized
the sale of each such parcel of land subject to review and release
by the City; and
WHEREAS , the City Council has reviewed said lands for
compliance with local zoning ordinances, for the amount of outstanding
special assessments remaining unpaid to the City, and/or for possible
public use by the City as authorized by the Statutes ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Orono, pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 282 . 01,
Subdivision l , hereby applies to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners
and to the Commissioner of Revenue for conveyance of the following tax
forfeited lands to the City for road and drainage control purposes .
The City Council hereby states that such lands are substandard or otherwise
unsuitable for private use and that there is a need and justifiable public
purpose for said lands to be conveyed to the City.
