HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7531 Election Judge Donation �-oIVQ CITY OF ORONO �, RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL 1. 1\XL-' NO. 7531 t4kEs ov-8' A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION WHEREAS, election judges must be paid at least minimum wage for work and training (Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 1); and WHEREAS,election judges can volunteer to work without pay if they submit a written statement at least ten days before the election(Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 2); and WHEREAS, the city of Orono can accept donations for the benefit of its citizens (Minnesota Statutes § 465.03 et seq.); and WHEREAS, election judges must receive training before working an election (Minnesota Rules § 8240.1300 subp. 1; and WHEREAS,the city of Orono administered a general election on November 5; and WHEREAS, the donation of time has been offered to Orono for the benefit of its voters and residents; and WHEREAS,the City Council finds it appropriate to accept the following volunteer time: Name Volunteer Hours Description Susan Bro 28 training,early voting,and election day shift Jennifer Brockman 3.25 training and election day shift Michaela Diercks 10 training and election day shift Sophia Mahowald 9.25 election day shift Lila Moberg 8 training and election day shift Kara Moline 4 training and election day shift Julie Weninger 4 training and election day shift NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council gratefully accepts the volunteer time from the generous election judges listed above.
