Title: Public Safety Departments Updates (Goals, Metrics)
1.Purpose:
The purpose of this item is to discuss Public Safety (Police and Fire) goals and metrics
2.Background:
Earlier this fall the city council expressed an interest in reviewing the goals and metrics for the fire
department. To keep things in context and perspective it is important to look at these with than
the context of public safety services more generally. Therefore the police department and fire
department will provide updates on the goals they are currently working toward.
As a matter of normal procedure department goals and metrics are provided as part of the annual
staff report which is presented to council in February each year. Annual-Reports
