Dear Mr. Abbott:
It is a policy of the City of Orono to routinely inspect building
sites prior to issuance of permits for additions. This is done to
ascertain that the new construction will not affect performance of
or access to the septic system on that property.
While our inspection on March 29, 1979 did not reveal any problems
with the location of your proposed addition, we did find that your
septic system is discharging untreated effluent to the ground surface
and ultimately to the adjacent wetland. Tliis discharge is in direct
violation of Orono Ordinance 210.
Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss a course of action
in affecting needed repairs to your system.
