Re: Septic System Repairs
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Sjoberg:
Just as a follow-up to my conversation with Ed Sullivan and
Mrs. Sjoberg this morning:
- The existing septic tank is quite substandard and
the drainfield, if there is one, is not absorbing the
current effluent load.
The location of the existing system makes it nearly
impossible to repair. For this reason, I suggest an
entire new system be designed and installed.
The design should be based on soil testing (2 perc
tests, 1 boring as a minimum). I have attached a
list of site evaluators who have worked in the area
and can perform these tests.
- I have included a list of the contractors licensed in
Orono should you wish to get more bids.
