• « <br />SITE EVALUATION REPORT <br />RUXTON STRONG PROPSRTT <br />IN THE OF SBC. 3-117-23 <br />ORONO, MINNESOTA <br />I2-3O-OO <br />On Decenber 12-ll4.f 19^0 six pereolatJon holes wore tested <br />and 3 soil borings taken on each of 2 proposed lots on the Rux- <br />ton Strong property, Ihe percolation holes were dug 6 inches In <br />dlcpjetsr to a U2 Inch depth while the soil borings were dtig 6^2 <br />inches in diameter to the 4 foot depth and 3 Inches In diameter <br />to the 6 foot depth, Tl-ie percolation holes were dug with both <br />a power and hand operated auger v/hlle the soil borings were dug <br />with the hand operated bucket typo auger. <br />Both lota are situated on top of a high wooded knob con» <br />sisting of the Kilkenny loam soil series. Because of the loc­ <br />ation the coll was very Ary nnd hard and thus was kept satura­ <br />ted for a long tine before testing. The averago percolation <br />rates for the tvio lots were 25.0 and 34.4 minutes per inch <br />which when sombinad with the lack of a high viater table <br />blec standard drainflold systeo;s to bo constructed on each lot. <br />Because the whole area is relatively level it appears that <br />some typo of pumping system will have to bo used if full base­ <br />ments are to bo served.
