BROWN ROAD 7-29-83 On Jxoly 23-26, 1983 two percolation holes were tested and two aoil borings were taken on the above property according to the provisions of Individual Sewage Treatment Systems Standards ( WPC-40) in order to find another area for a new drainfield. The area chosen was on a flat slope at the base of a bank which is at least 75 feet back from the marsh and at an elevation of about 4 feet above the swamp or marsh. The soils were fairly sandy and had very good permeability which ■would require a shallow trench system because of the possibility of a • high water table. However, in order to maintain at least 3 feet of i > . separation between the bottom of the trench and the water table, some •A., i •* . * •. * -Vf* ^ loanQT sand or sandy loan fill will be needed to be placed before construction of the trenches. Also, grading should be done in order to divert runoff water from entering the runoff site. Sinc'e the water level in the borings is the same as that of the marsh, an interceptor drain will not be necessary with the systeri. Additional system design ir.formation follows. If any other infirroajion is needed, please contact me. Sincerely, FERCOR, INC. / Mark S. Gronberg, P.E. <1 David Ryerse System Design 1. Percolation Rate, Type of System. 10.7 minutes per inch. Shallow Trench System. 2. Proposed Flow Rate. 5 bedrooms ^ 150 OPD is ?50 GPD. 3. Soil Treatment Area required. 1.27 percolation factor x 750 GPD is 950 So., Ft. Minimum. 4. Size end Number of Trenches. 3 trenches 3 feet wide and I06 feet long is 950 Sq. Ft. If it is determined that the present trenches are still suitable but Just not enough sq. ft., then that area could be subtracted. The new trenches would be spaced a minimum of 7.5 feet apart center to center. 5. Drainfield Rock Required. 35 cubic yds. of rock is needed in order to have 6 inches under and 2 inches over the 4 inch diameter distribution pipe. Also* at least 6 inches of sandy loam or loamy sand fill will be required to be placed before trench construe tlcn. The original should be scarified before placing the fill* and the fill should extend at least 10 feet outside the edge of the trenches. 6. Septic Tanks. The present tanks should be checked to see if they are acceptable. If not, 2 tanks of at least 1000 gallons are needed. Gravity flow should be possible to the site. , >v'," ■ 3 t-F-* I •j X XX ir- k‘5- I’ u k- K:. ft. DAVID HYERSE 350 S. BROWN RD.
