Minutes <br /> City Council Work Session <br /> Monday, July 22, 2024, 5:00 PM <br /> t4kEsHOv-1'G City Council Chambers 12780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Council members present: Mayor Dennis Walsh, City Council Members Alisa Benson, Richard <br /> Crosby, Matt Johnson, Maria Veach. <br /> Staff present: Community Development Director Laura Oakden, Finance Director Maggie Jin, <br /> Accountant Anne Hentges, and City Clerk Christine Lusian. <br /> GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND LEVY <br /> Finance Director Jin introduced the draft budget and tax levy information for 2025. Jin pointed <br /> out that the Orono tax rate is one of the lowest in the county and half of the county average. <br /> Discussion included notable revenue and expenditure changes. Next steps in developing the <br /> budget will be enterprise and internal service funds early-August with department heads. Budget <br /> committee meets mid-August. Council will review enterprise budget at its second work session <br /> in August and preliminary levy in September. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Work session ended at 5:35 p.m. <br /> ATTEST.
