JIM THEISEN
FOR HIS EFFORTS IN RELATION TO A PERSONAL INJURY CRASH
IN THE CITY OF ORONO
RESOLUTION NO. 6116
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2012, at 1743 hours, the Orono Police and
Long Lake Fire Department received a call of a personal injury crash in the 3000
block of North Shore Drive in the City of Orono; and
WHEREAS, upon impact with a tree the vehicle started on fire; and
WHEREAS, Jim Theisen came across the crash shortly after it had
occurred; and
WHEREAS, Jim Theisen attempted to wake the unconscious male from
the severely damaged vehicle and when the fire could not be put out, Jim pulled
the driver from the car as the fire grew and came closer to them; and
WHEREAS, Jim Theisen pulled the driver to safety and relayed vital
information to responding officers; and
WHEREAS, had Jim Theisen not pulled the unconscious driver from the
burning vehicle, the driver may have perished.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orono City
Council does hereby commend Jim Theisen for his care and concern for the safety
and well-being of others; and does also extend sincere appreciation to him, on
behalf of the Orono City Council, the Orono Police Department, the Long Lake
Fire Department, and the citizens of this community.
Adop�ted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting
held this 27t day of February, 2012.
